Camping and Live-In Vehicles

Tickets to the festival do not automatically include camping, if you wish to stay on Tyne Willows during the festival weekend, you must buy a separate camping ticket. Camping tickets can be purchased online or at the festival gate on the 17th and 18th July 2026. Tented camping is £5 per tent, and live-in vehicles are £10 per vehicle.

Generally speaking this is either a Campervan, Motorhome, Caravan, trailer tent or other fully converted vehicle. Vehciles with roof tents will also be permitted into the live in vehicle field and require a live in vehicle ticket. For Health & Safety reasons we do not allow sleeping in unconverted vehicles such as vans or cars.

If you wish to park next to your friends or family, you will need to arrive at the same time. Spaces cannot be saved for attendees arriving later.

Disposable BBQ’s, cooking stoves and firepits are not allowed in the camp site, as Tyne Willows is a community recreational ground, therefore we must respect it. It is also safer for everyone on site. We do have a selection of food/beverage vendors in the festival, and Waffling0n will be providing cooked breakfasts for campers. There is also a selection of shops and cafes a few minutes walk from the festival site.

The festival arena opens at 4:30pm on Friday the 17th July, with field entertainment – the music will start at 6pm and continue until late. On Saturday the 18th July, the festival arena will open at 11am, kicking off with an hour long session from Feel Now Yoga. The music will officially start after midday on Saturday, after a very special opening spectacle which is NOT to be missed! The festival is only two days long, so on Sunday the 19th it is time to pack up and head home – we ask that people camping leave Tyne Willows Field by 12 noon that day.

This is Cumbria, so it’s always wise to pack a waterproof – just in case! But a little rain is a small price to pay for a weekend in one of England’s most breath-taking landscapes (especially in summer!). We recommend bringing warm layers of clothing and extra tent pegs just in case. And plenty of midge spray!

Please wear appropriate sturdy footwear (no high heels or soft soles). We have had no mud issues in previous years to date, but it would be wise to bring your wellies or alternative suitable waterproof boots, just in case of adverse weather. You should also bring a raincoat, sunscreen and appropriate warm layers. Be prepared for all types of weather. If you wish to wear fancy dress costumes, please do so! Our designated fancy dress day is Saturday. There is no theme, so let your imagination run wild!

You are welcome to bring chairs and children’s pushchairs into the arena, but not into or in front of the entrance/exit of the music venues. Please be considerate of others when placing your camping chair/child pushchair. Please be prepapred to have your pushchair inspected upon entry to the festival arena.

We welcome well-behaved dogs, provided they bring with them well-behaved owners who fully respect the land, our facilities, above all else, fellow festival-goers. Dogs are admitted free of charge when accompanied by a paying adult ticket holder. If you are planning to bring your dog to the festival, please take a moment to read the following information to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Rules

  • Dogs are permitted within the music marquees, however we reserve to right remove the animal and owner from music marquees at our discretion. Please keep dogs away from busy or congested areas, avoid entrances, exits, dance floors, and areas close to speakers and festival equipment. If your dog becomes distressed, please move them to a quieter area of the festival site.
  • Dogs must be kept under control and on a short lead (maximum 1.5m) at all times within the festival arena and campsite.
  • Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs and must dispose of waste appropriately, as well as abide by the law. Please note that waste bags are not provided, so please bring your own supplies.
  • You will be responsible for any damage/mess caused by your dog whilst on site at Alston Live Festival. Failure to comply with our dog policy may result in you and your dog being asked to leave the festival. Under such circumstances, NO refunds will be given.
  • Water bowls will be available throughout the festival arena; however, owners remain responsible for ensuring their dogs have access to sufficient water throughout their visit.

Your Dog’s Welfare

Please remember that the festival can be a busy and stimulating environment, with loud music and crowds. Whilst some dogs may enjoy the excitement and attention, others may find the experience stressful or overwhelming.

Before bringing your dog, please carefully consider whether the festival environment is suitable for their temperament, age, health, and individual needs.

Please also be aware that weather conditions can vary significantly. The festival arena has limited natural shade, and warm weather can increase the risk of dogs becoming uncomfortable or overheating. Owners are responsible for their dog’s wellbeing throughout the event and ensuring they have access to water, shade, and regular opportunities to rest.

Safety & Legal Responsibilties

  • Dogs must never be left unattended in vehicles at any time. Even on relatively mild days, temperatures inside vehicles can rise rapidly and pose a serious risk to animal welfare.
  • Dogs should wear a collar and identification tag and be microchipped in accordance with current UK legal requirements.
  • We recommend that dogs attending the festival are up to date with their vaccinations.
  • If a dog displays aggressive or dangerous behaviour, festival management reserves the right to require the owner and dog to leave the site.
  • Owners must comply with all applicable animal welfare legislation and local regulations throughout their visit.

Respecting the North Pennines

Alston Live Festival is located within the beautiful North Pennines National Landscape. The surrounding area is home to working farmland, livestock, wildlife, and sensitive habitats. We ask all dog owners to act responsibly and help us protect this environment. Tyne Willows Field is a known dog walking spot for locals, so please respect this and keep your dogs on a lead in the campsite.

Important Information

Failure to comply with this Dog Policy may result in you and your dog being asked to leave the festival site. In such circumstances, no refund will be given. By purchasing an admission ticket and bringing a dog to Alston Live Festival, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with this Dog Policy, which forms part of the festival Terms and Conditions.

Thank you for helping us make Alston Live Festival a safe, enjoyable, and dog-friendly event for everyone!

Tickets & Entry

Our ticket provider is WESCANTICKETS and tickets will be sent as e-tickets via email. Please ensure that you enter your email address correctly when booking. You will receive a confirmation email from our ticket provider once you have bought tickets, with a PDF attachment which contains the e-tickets.

Please do check your junk/spam folders. The email with your barcoded tickets attached will come from our ticket provider and the subject line should read: ‘Alston Live Festival 2026 Tickets’.

For all ticket enquiries or if your e-tickets have not been received 1 week prior to the festival, please email chair@alstonlive.co.uk

Alston Live Festival operates a tiered ticketing system. This means that our ticket prices start cheaper and increase as we near closer to the actual event, so the earlier you book, the bigger the discount you will get! Other than the price you pay, there is absolutely no difference to the ticket you receive, no matter what tier you purchase your ticket at. We have a set allocation of tickets for each pricing tier. Once the set allocation of tickets has sold out we progress onto the next tier and the price increases.

Day tickets are available for Friday and Saturday. Friday and Saturday only tickets are available now via our secure ticketing platform.

The car park and campsite are extremely close to the festival site. It’s roughly a minute walk.

Food & Drink

Whilst you may bring a reasonable amount alcohol into the campsite to consume, there is strictly no alcohol allowed to be brought into the festival arena. Please do not bring more than a reasonable amount for personal consumption as excessive amounts may be confiscated by security.

Strictly NO GLASS allowed and NO EXCESSIVE SPIRITS (beyond personal consumption).

Trev’s Bar will be in the festival arena serving a full variety of drinks.

This year we have four food vans with us:

  • North-East award winners Acropolis Street Food will be serving their authentic Greek Gyros and more, catering to Vegetarians and Vegans.
  • Hexham’s favourites Little Mexico will be serving up a storm of tasty Mexican food, again with Vegetarian options.
  • Local heroes Waffling0n are returning with their delicious sweet and savoury waffles, catering for Gluten Free and Vegetarian needs, and serving breakfasts on Saturday morning!
  • Alston Ices will be serving cool scoops, from nostalgic 99’s with a flake, to exciting tropical ice blasts.

Artist Applications

We receive many applications to play Alston Live Festival every year and we will be bringing details by the end of September of how to apply to play at Alston Live 2027! Keep your eyes peeled!

Health & Safety

The priority of the Alston Live Festival is the safety and welfare of all attendees. Alston Live Festival intends to be a safe, peaceful and enjoyable event. Crime, of any description, will not be tolerated. Staff and stewards will be patrolling the site for crime prevention purposes.

  • Stay within the designated festival areas. Do NOT wander off onto adjacent land.
  • Do not swim in the river! It is very dangerous!
  • Report anyone you think is acting suspiciously or aggressively to stewards.
  • Although the festival is only small, it may be worth arranging a meeting point with your friends/family if you get split up from each other, so you know where to head to.
  • We know you want to have a drink or two, but do consider that drinking to excess can leave you vulnerable. Please look after yourselves and look out for each other.
  • Please be sensible and don’t take unnecessary risks.

During the festival, we will be constantly be monitoring the festival site and the surrounding weather conditions and have procedures in place for evacuation.

If we detect the potential of lightning strikes in the locality, we will suspend the activities within the festival site immediately. Announcements will be made in each marquee asking people to evacuate in an orderly manner. Festival staff and volunteers will aid you during the evacuation.

The safest place to be during an electrical storm is inside a motor vehicle. In the event of an evacuation please return to your vehicle, keeping windows closed and hands and feet away from metal parts of the car including the car body. Please note that convertible cars are not suitable refuge points and should not be used. Please do not start your car engine. In order to reduce the risk of collisions between pedestrians and vehicles during an evacuation, vehicles shall not be allowed to move or leave the site.

If you are unable to take refuge in a motor vehicle we recommend that you return to your tents, the advice is to leave your shoes on, crouch down and make yourself small on an insulated surface such as a sleeping mat or backpack, without placing your hands on the ground for support. Do not touch the sides of the tents or the tent poles.

The festival site will not re-open until a minimum of 45 minutes since the last sound of thunder and our lightning detection equipment has indicated that the storm has passed more than 15 miles from the site. We will use our PA systems to communicate appropriate messages and updates.

As with every other festival, we recommend leaving any personal property of monetary or sentimental value at home as we cannot guarentee the safety of your property while at the festival. However, there are a few actions you can take to ensure the safety of your property:

  • Lock and empty your vehicles. Leave the glove compartment open and conspicuously empty.
  • Look after your belongings – make sure you keep your mobile, iPod and wallet/ purse safe and out of sight. Do not leave valuable items on display in your car or tent.
  • If you have a smartphone, activate the ‘find my phone’ app or similar. Make sure you keep a note of any usernames or passwords.
  • Set up camp with friends, and make friends with your neighbours. Look out for each other’s property.
  • Mark your property: clearly label your gear (including your tent) with your postcode. Obvious indelible markings will significantly reduce the risk of things being stolen and will increase the chance of their return if found. Tag your keys with a phone number and a friend’s address.
  • Take any valuables – including prescription medication – with you when you leave your tent.
  • Don’t keep all your cash and valuables in the same place: spread them around in different pockets
